Herve is first and foremost a man of prayer, and also a seasoned singer‑songwriter, arranger, producer, and musician. He draws much of his inspiration from the Word of God and has made contemporary Catholic liturgical music his preferred artistic language.
His musical journey began at home, where everyone was involved in parish choirs. At the age of 15, he started formal music studies and soon began setting his early poems to score. He was mentored by renowned composers who introduced him to the craft of composition.
The idea for a first album emerged in 2006, when he composed a hymn for the 40th anniversary of the presence of the Congregation of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (CICM) in Cameroon. The album featured nine tracks.
His second opus followed in 2012: a single commemorating the 150th anniversary of the CICM.
In 2018, his third opus marked the 150th anniversary of the death of Théophile Verbist, founder of the CICM.
His fourth work, composed in 2022, honored the bicentenary of Verbist’s birth (celebrated in 2023).
In 2023, his fifth opus accompanied Pope Francis’ first apostolic visit to Mongolia: he co‑wrote the official hymn, conducted the choir during the Mass with the Holy Father, and presented eight of his songs in Mongolian.
His sixth opus (2025) is the Mongolian adaptation of Jubilee of Hope.
That same year, his seventh opus, Clothe Us, Lord, marked his debut on major international digital platforms.
His eighth opus, Journeying Together (2025), is a full album of ten original songs.
A composer deeply committed to the CICM mission, Hervé develops music that unites, awakens, and accompanies the spiritual life of communities. In 2026, he released his ninth single, Au Souffle du Concile, a jubilee hymn celebrating 60 years of mission in Cameroon and 50 years in Senegal. This work continues his dedication to bridging cultures, carrying the joy of the Gospel, and supporting communities on their spiritual journey.
Hervé collaborates with artists across Africa, the Americas, Asia, and Europe. His compositions are sung around the world. He is the co‑founder (with Father Marino Nguékam) of the hymn of Saint Cyprian Theological School in Ngoya (2004).
He has been a priest‑religious‑missionary of the Roman Catholic Church since 2009 and a member of the CICM since 2002. He is also a member of the Cameroon National Music Corporation and of the Copyright Corporation for Literature and Dramatic Arts.

Hervé est d’abord un homme de prière, puis un auteur‑compositeur‑interprète, arrangeur, producteur et musicien chevronné. Il puise une grande part de son inspiration dans la Parole de Dieu et s’est spécialisé dans la musique liturgique catholique contemporaine, devenue son langage privilégié.
Son histoire musicale commence en famille, au sein des chorales paroissiales où chacun est engagé. À 15 ans, il entame ses études de musique et met rapidement en partition ses premiers poèmes. Il est formé et encouragé par des compositeurs de renom qui l’initient à l’écriture musicale.
Le projet d’un premier album naît en 2006, avec la composition d’un hymne pour le 40ᵉ anniversaire de la présence des Missionnaires du Cœur Immaculé de Marie (CICM) au Cameroun. L’album compte neuf titres.
En 2012 paraît son deuxième opus : un single commémorant le 150ᵉ anniversaire du CICM.
En 2018, son troisième opus marque le 150ᵉ anniversaire de la mort de Théophile Verbist, fondateur des Missionnaires CICM.
Sa quatrième œuvre, composée en 2022, rend hommage au bicentenaire de la naissance de Verbist (célébré en 2023).
En 2023, son cinquième opus accompagne la première visite apostolique du pape François en Mongolie : il coécrit l’hymne officiel, dirige le chœur lors de la messe avec le Saint‑Père et présente huit chants en langue mongole.
Son sixième opus (2025) est l’adaptation mongole de Jubilee of Hope.
La même année, son septième opus, Clothe Us, Lord, marque son entrée sur les grandes plateformes numériques internationales.
Son huitième opus est l’album Journeying Together (2025), composé de dix chants originaux.
Compositeur engagé au service de la mission CICM, il développe une œuvre qui rassemble, éveille et accompagne la vie spirituelle des communautés. En 2026, il publie son neuvième single, Au Souffle du Concile, hymne jubilaire célébrant les 60 ans de mission au Cameroun et les 50 ans au Sénégal. Cette œuvre s’inscrit dans la continuité de son travail : unir les cultures, porter la joie de l’Évangile et soutenir le cheminement des communautés.
Hervé collabore avec des artistes en Afrique, en Amérique, en Asie et en Europe. Ses compositions sont chantées dans le monde entier. Il est cofondateur (avec le père Marino Nguékam) de l’hymne de l’École Théologique Saint‑Cyprien de Ngoya (2004).
Prêtre‑religieux‑missionnaire de l’Église catholique romaine depuis 2009 et membre du CICM depuis 2002, il est également Sociétaire de la Société Nationale Camerounaise de l’Art Musical et de la Société Civile des Droits de la Littérature et des Arts Dramatiques.
